We are excited to return to Red Eye Theater to share two new works from two exciting queer artists.

JOHANNA KELLER FLORES will share a reading of her new play:

ANGELITA

In this play reading we follow Yani across three stages of her life as she confronts her big feelings with the help of an angel and questions what it means to try to be a good person?

With direction from Marcela Michelle, the play will be read by Quinn Avery as Yani and Johanna Keller Flores as Angelita, with Ellis Perez reading stage directions.

ATIM OPOKA will share a new multidisciplinary work:

THE CALL

The Call is a journey that explores finding and living your truth through the lens of the Black Ancestral Experience.

The Call will be performed by Atim Opoka and Gugu Sikosona.

Week Two

Featuring a one-night-only durational performance from installation artist MALFLOR (Kieran Myles Andres Tverbakk)

EQUILIBRIA

a performance exploring the body as a site of constant transition

The earth is a body / in transition / water, air, heat, soil / a corporeal entity of many elements / function in collaboration / to sustain life.

The body is an earth / in transition / organs, water, blood, bones, tissue, muscles / in constant search of equilibrium / to sustain life.

A body is not neutral / a body is in constant experience / a body knows even when the brain does not.

A body is a vessel that holds / memory / stress / anticipation / trauma / love / elongated shifts /

De la tierra emerjo y a la tierra vuelvo / Fra jorden dunker jeg opp og til jorden kommer jeg tilbake
