Consider the Cow is a solo show from trans physical theater artist MK Tuomanen ("Best Theater Artist", Philadelphia Magazine), written in praise of intersex cows.
With a delightful cardboard universe designed by Izzy Sazak (Applied Mechanics, Pig Iron), and inventive direction from renowned artist Rose Jarboe (Bearded Ladies Cabaret, Guggenheim Works and Process, Woolly Mammoth), Consider the Cow has one foot in stand-up and one foot in performance art. From the minotaur to the legacy of problematic grandmas, Consider the Cow is great show for anyone grappling with the legacy of family baggage; audiences are invited to consider and celebrate their own genderful journeys toward liberation. Tuomanen is a former Jerome Fellow, a Haas Emerging Artist, and winner of the 2024 Terrence McNally Award. More on Tuomanen’s work can be found at www.mkplays.com
