Age Recommendation: 16+
Written by Marcie R. Rendon, an award winning author & enrolled member of the White Earth Nation, Sweet Revenge is a true crime comedy. The play centers on Maggie, a middle-age Native woman working to make ends meet with her two grandchildren in their inner city apartment. Alongside them is Granny Josephine, who is tormented by memories of growing up in an American Indian boarding school. Meanwhile, a serial killer is targeting ice cream truck drivers in the neighborhood bringing John, the homicide detective, into Maggie’s life.
Sweet Revenge is directed by Sequoia Hauck (White Earth Anishinaabe & Hupa) and assistant directed by Samuel Osborne-Huerta.
